
Women's Tennis Suffers 5-2 Road Loss at Coastal Carolina

Conway, S.C. --- The ECU Women's tennis team's (6-3, 1-0) three-match win streak came to a halt following a 5-2 loss to Coastal Carolina (6-3) at the Stevens Tennis Complex.
The Chants' secured the doubles points with wins at the No. 2 and 3 spots, while ECU's top duo of Celia Ruiz and Lisa Hofbauer did not finish.

In singles play, No. 53 Ruiz defeated Coastal's top ranked Iryna Vardanian in three sets, 1-6, 6-2, 7-6. At the No. 6 spot for the Pirates, Ho Chiao Hsia defeated Alexa Tiefel 7-5, 7-5.
The purple and gold are now 3-3 in road matches and will play their next seven matches away from home.
