ORLANDO, Fla. – A trio of golfers in Kathryn Carson (t7th), Carley Cox (t12th) and Lisa Pettersson (t12th) each claimed a Top 12 placement helping No. 38 ECU to a second place finish at the 2018 UCF Challenge. Carson, who had a career-best finish, shot a 1-over 217 for her third Top 10 of the year, while Cox and Pettersson each posted 3-over par 219.

"This was a great tournament for us and an all-around team win as we got contributions from everyone in the lineup. We had two really good rounds including posting a low team round of 283. This was a tough field with a total of seven Top 50 programs and we picked up five huge wins for the program that will help build confidence as the spring season continues. I like what I saw out of Kathryn and Carely today with both shooting rounds of 68 as well as Lisa with her score of 70. In all, we posted a 14-1 record on the week, which was a great way to start the spring."

ECU improved to 70-17 on the season with its second place finish … Its final round 283 is the fourth-lowest team round of the season (best: 277 at Pinehurst Challenge during the second round).
The Pirates notched five Top 50 wins on the week (No. 26 Iowa State, No. 27 Wisconsin, No. 29 Vanderbilt, No. 34 Auburn and No. 44 Texas Tech).
Carson posted a career-best finish (t7th) and during her rookie season has recorded four finishes of 11th or better … She led the field in par-3 scoring (2.67/4-under), shared the lead with one eagle and ranked among the leaders in total birdies (10/t7th) and par-5 scoring (4.67/t10th).
Cox claimed her fourth Top 20 finish of the season (fifth of her career) with her round of 219 … She stood among the leaders in eagles (1/t1st), total birdies (9/t8th) and par-4 scoring (4.07/t11th).
Pettersson registered her fifth Top 20 placement of the season (19th career) after her 54-hole score of 219 where she claimed a share of 12th place … She finished among the leaders in total birdies (9/t8th), par-4 scoring (4.10/t14th) and par-5 scoring (4.75/t18th).
