Mohogany Baker Wins AAC Hammer Throw Title In Cincinnati

CINCINNATI, Ohio  – Senior Mohogany Baker captured the league title in the hammer throw Friday as the American Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships commenced at Gettler Stadium on the campus of the University of Cincinnati.

Baker threw a mark of 59.40 meters to edge out Chanell Bostis of Connecticut who recorded a 58.99-meter toss. Junior Ryan Davis claimed silver in the men's hammer with a meet-record total of 62.90 meters.

On the track, junior Courtney Warner advanced to the finals of the 200-meter dash, finishing fifth in the prelims with a time of 23.76. Sophomore Nuria Tillo-Prats was eighth in the prelims of the 800-meter run, crossing the finish line in 2:10.72 to book her spot in the finals. Additionally, AAC defending 800-meter men's champion and senior Stefano Migliorati earned second-place in the prelims of the event, easily qualifying for the finals with a time of 1:51.93.

The meet continues Saturday at 12:30 p.m. with the men's discus throw.
