Track And Field Qualifies Nine For NCAA East Preliminary

GREENVILLE, N.C. – The ECU track and field program will send nine athletes to the NCAA East Preliminary competition scheduled for May 24-26 in Tampa, Fla.

A trio of American Athletic Conference champions highlight the Pirate contingent in Stefano Migliorati (800m), Mohogany Baker (hammer) and Galissia Cause (discus). Baker and Cause led the ECU women to their highest-ever team finish at the AAC Outdoor Championships last week as the Pirates placed second behind Houston.

The Pirates will have a handful of athletes compete in multiple events in Baker (hammer, discus), Cause (shot put, discus) and junior Courtney Warner (100m, 200m).

The top 12 finishers in each preliminary event from each region advance to the NCAA Outdoor Championships, scheduled for June 6-9 the University of Oregon's Hayward Field.
