
Illness Sidelines ECU Golfers At NCAA Regional

AUSTIN, Texas — An Illness has spread through the ECU women's golf team, resulting in four players being forced to sit out the second round of the NCAA Austin Regional on Tuesday. Carley Cox, Dorthea Forbrigd, Kate Law and Lisa Pettersson will not participate in round two of the tournament.
Freshman Kathryn Carson will be the lone Pirate to compete in Tuesday's round. She posted a first round score of 2-over 74 Monday and finished the day tied for 42nd. She is scheduled to tee off at 10:30 a.m. EDT.
ECU begins the day tied for 12th place at 11-over-par 299. The top six teams from the regional will advance to the national championships to be played May 18-23 at Karsten Creek Golf Club in Stillwater, Okla.
