
Pirate Quartet Excels At USA Junior Outdoor Championships

GREENVILLE, N.C. – Rising sophomores Sommer Knight, Jada Terrell, Brooke Stith and Mackenzie Whitaker competed at the USA Track and Field Junior Outdoor Championships over the weekend in Indiana.

Knight posted a personal-high mark of 4.20 meters in the pole vault to claim fourth place while Whitaker secured sixth place in the long jump with a lifetime-best mark of 6.10 meters.

Stith competed in two events, claiming 10th place in the triple jump at 12.40 meters and 13th place in the 400-meter hurdles in a time of 1:02.77. Terrell rounded out things with 12th-place result in the 100-meter hurdles, clocking in at 14.08.

The meet served as Team USA's selection event for the 2018 IAAF World U20 Championships.
