Incoming Freshmen Named All-Stars

GREENVILLE, N.C. -- ECU women's basketball 2018-19 signees Tiara Chambers and Kaylee Jefferson were each selected to all-star teams in their respective states this spring.

Chambers was named to the West squad for the second-annual Virginian-Pilot Joy Fund All-Star Classic, while Jefferson was selected to the Team Texas for the Faith 7 Basketball Bowl, matching up some of the top high school players in Texas and Oklahoma.

As a senior at Norcom High School in Portsmouth, Va., Chambers led the greyhounds in scoring (14.0 ppg), rebounding (12.0 rpg) and blocked shots (8.0 bpg) and was named Virginian-Pilot All-Tidewater honorable mention. She was also tabbed First-Team Class 3 Region A by the Richmond Times-Dispatch.

Jefferson was named to the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches' Class 5A All-Region Team and was selected All-District 16 5A Co-Player-of-the-Year as a senior at Sulphur Springs High School. She averaged 17.0 points, 8.9 rebounds and 3.8 steals per game last season.

Chambers and Jefferson are expected on enroll in the second session of summer school which begins Thursday, June 21.
