
Cause Earns Second-Team All-America Shot Put Honors In Eugene

EUGENE, Ore. – Senior Galissia Cause placed 10th in the shot put Thursday night at the NCAA Outdoor Championships, garnering Second-Team All-America honors.

Cause is the first All-America performer for the ECU track and field program since Avion Jones collected first-team laurels in the high jump in 2016.

The school record holder in the outdoor shot put, Cause recorded a mark of 16.72 meters on her second attempt to clinch a national 10th-place finish. She ends her career as a four-time NCAA East Preliminary qualifier as well as the 2018 American Athletic Conference discus champion.

Thursday marked the end of the Pirates' 2017-18 track and field campaign.
