Justice Obasohan Named To NABC Honors Court

GREENVILLE, N.C. – ECU rising senior Justice Obasohan has been named to the 2017-18 National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Honors Court. He represents ECU as one of just four American Athletic Conference institutions (SMU, Temple, Tulsa) to earn the academic accolade.

The Wallace, N.C. native has been named to The American All-Academic Team three times and the team's representative on the Nutrien All-Academic Team, which recognizes the student-athlete with the top GPA on each of ECU's athletics teams, each of the past two seasons.

A three-year letterman, Obasohan joined the program as a walk-on prior to the start of the 2015-16 campaign. He is the seventh different Pirate and ninth ECU student-athlete overall to be named to the NABC Honors Court. Greyson Sargent and Petar Torlak each earned the accolade twice, while Francis Edosomwan, Taylor Gagnon, Peyton Robbins and Evan Salzano achieved the status once apiece.
The NABC Honors Court, which was established with the 2006-07 season, recognizes men's collegiate basketball student-athletes who excelled in academics each year. In order to be named to the Honors Court, a student-athlete must be a junior or senior academically and a varsity player, must have a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher, must have completed at least one year at their current institution, and must be a member of an NCAA or NAIA institution with a NABC member coach.
