
2018 American Football Media Day Coverage

GREENVILLE, N.C. – The 2018 American Athletic Conference Summer Kickoff and Media Days is set to begin Monday, July 23 in Newport, R.I. The two-day annual event will take place at Gurney's Newport Resort & Marina.

ECU Head Coach Scottie Montgomery along with student-athletes Bruce Bivens (LB), Trevon Brown (WR), Garrett McGhin (OT) and Alex Turner (DT) are set to arrive Monday mid-afternoon and will hit the ground running participating in Media Day events.

Coach Montgomery and ECU players will attend media sessions with American Digital Network, CBS Sports Network, ESPN3 and SiriusXM which will take place between 2 and 6 p.m. (ET) before participating in a photo shoot and taking part in the conference's signature New England-style clambake, with all 12 teams, bowl partners and invited media members.
Live coverage of the event will kick off with a one-hour program Monday from the site of the event's New England-style clambake. The American's Hali Oughton will be joined by Andy Katz for coverage of one of the most highly anticipated events on the college football calendar and the announcement of The American's Fifth Anniversary Team.

Tuesday's action starts at 8 a.m. with a head coaches meeting followed by player and head coaches group photos. At 9 a.m., Commissioner Mike Aresco will address local and national media members in attendance with his annual remarks before the Coaches' Roundtables begin.

ESPN's Kevin Negandhi will serve as the host of Tuesday's podium sessions, featuring opening remarks by Commissioner Aresco and roundtable sessions with the American's 12 head football coaches beginning at 9:45 a.m. ESPN3 will have interviews with Commissioner Aresco and the league's head coaches Monday afternoon. Matt Schick and Matt Chatham will anchor ESPN's coverage. SiriusXM's ESPNU Radio (channel 84) will originate live from Newport during the event as well.
