Paladini-Jennings Joins Women’s Tennis Program

GREENVILLE, N.C. – Martina Paladini-Jennings has signed a national letter of intent to attend East Carolina University and play tennis for the Pirates beginning in the fall of 2018, according to an announcement Tuesday by head coach Tom Morris.

Paladini-Jennings is slotted among the top 50 players in England as well as the top 20 for the 18 and under age group. She has also reached as high as No. 1456 in the International Tennis Federation rankings.

"Martina represents the type of person which we strive to recruit to our tennis program, Morris said. "She is a great player with solid results internationally, a very good student and has a contagious personality. I feel that Martina will be very competitive in our lineup as a freshman in both singles and doubles. We look forward to having her represent our team over the next four years."

Paladini-Jennings has represented Middlesex since the age of 15 for the national team and the team won the Aegon 18U County Cup in 2015 and came in second for two-straight years. She was also ranked No. 1 in Middlesex for 14U, 16U and 18U consecutively.

In 2015, Paladini-Jennings competed at the Road to Wimbledon at the All England Lawn Tennis Club and reached the quarterfinals. She also reached three semifinals of Grade 1 Women's National British tournaments in 2017.

The Pirates posted a 17-9 overall record during the 2017-18 campaign – their third-straight winning season.
