
Volleyball Adds Four Student-Athletes To Program

GREENVILLE, N.C. – Priscilla Jones, Sania Mccoy, Jennings Hall and Sariah Schulteis have committed to attend East Carolina University and compete for the volleyball team beginning with the 2020 season, according to an announcement Tuesday by head coach Julie Torbett.

The group joins a squad that finished 19-11 overall in 2019 and returns all but one starter to next season's roster.

- Won two-straight state championships with Green Hope High School after transferring to the institution prior to her junior campaign
- Racked up 318 kills and 84 blocks (70 solo) with a .401 hitting percentage during her junior and senior seasons
- Played for a Falcons team that was ranked No. 1 in North Carolina and fifth nationally (MaxPreps Xcellent 25)
- Began her prep career at Austin Westlake High School in Texas, helping the Chapparals to a 28-17 record as a sophomore
- Also lettered in track and field where she was a three-time regional finalist in nine events, a state finalist in two events and a two-time Texas 6A district champion in the 100-meter hurdles
- Sister of former East Carolina football standout Zay Jones
 Coach Torbett on Jones: "Priscilla is a diamond in the rough. She is athletic and motivated to succeed. Her versatility is a bonus, but we see her becoming a dominant player in the middle."

- Helped guide the 2019 Knights squad to the program's first North Carolina 4A state championship game appearance since 2012
- Racked up 611 kills, 481 digs, 91 total blocks and 118 service aces in four prep seasons
- Tabbed to the AVCA Phenom List as a sophomore and junior
- Named to the NCVBCA All-Region Team and was an honorable mention all-state selection her junior year after pacing her team and conference in kills
- Led Ardrey Kell in digs as a senior while earning all-conference, NCVBCA all-region and all-state accolades
 Coach Torbett on Mccoy: "Sania has a lot of potential and a lot of upside. She has a good grasp on what she needs to do to compete for a position on the outside. She is large and quick."

- Started in 32 matches her junior season and 43 as a team captain her senior campaign
- North Myrtle Beach compiled a 111-35-2 record in her four years on the varsity squad
- Excels in the classroom as a Junior Scholar and is a member of the National Beta Club, National Honor Society, National English Honor Society, National Science Honor Society and Chick-Fil-A Leadership Academy
Coach Torbett on Hall: "Jennings is a great person. She's the kind of player everyone would love to have on their team. She works really hard and has progressed over the seven years I have known her. She is a true Pirate and will bleed purple and gold."

- Collected 729 digs in two seasons while helping lead the Panthers to a 59-13 overall record and a pair of conference titles
- Averaged six digs per set her senior season while earning first-team all-conference and first-team all-area accolades
- Served as team captain for her 17U Ultimate Volleyball Club, producing 127 aces that season
- Also earned a varsity letter in basketball as a freshman point guard
