
Chloe Wilmoth Joins Volleyball Program For 2019

GREENVILLE, N.C. – Chloe Wilmoth will attend East Carolina University and compete for the Pirate volleyball program beginning in the fall of 2019 according to an announcement by head coach Julie Torbett Tuesday.

Wilmoth is a 6-1 outside hitter who played her prep volleyball at Warhill High School in Williamsburg, Va.

"Chloe is a tremendous athlete," Torbett said. "She can play every position on the court and therefore is very flexible in her role. She will be a great player to coach and have on the team with her great personality."

Wilmoth was named to the 2018 Virginia High School League Class 4 All-State First Team and was tabbed the Region 4A Player of the Year. She racked up 361 kills (3.9 per set), 182 digs, 40 blocks and 80 service aces as a senior while hitting .312 in leading Warhill to a 24-4 overall record and a spot in the state semifinals.

During her decorated prep career, Wilmoth started for the varsity squad all four years and helped lead the Lions to the 2015 4A state title. She accrued 1,149 kills and 1,102 assists (in only three seasons) as well as 657 digs and 295 aces. Wilmoth also garned first-team all-state honors three times.

Wilmoth is the second member of the 2019 recruiting class, joining setter Marissa Harmon who transferred into the program after garnering 2017 Mountain West Conference Freshman of the Year accolades as a member of the University of Wyoming volleyball squad.
