
Pirates Begin Spring Competition Schedule This Weekend

GREENVILLE, N.C. – The East Carolina volleyball team begins its spring competition schedule this weekend, traveling to Campbell Thursday night for a 7 p.m. matchup with the Camels.

The Pirates will also head over to Raleigh Sunday for a quartet of matches against Appalachian State (9 a.m.), Duke (10 a.m.), NC State (Noon) and Tennessee (1 p.m.).

ECU is under the direction of sixth-year head coach Julie Torbett – the all-time winningest head coach in program history. She has guided the Pirates to 35 victories over the last two seasons, including 22 in 2017 marking the most wins in a single season since 1982.

East Carolina returns nearly its entire roster in 2019, including American Athletic Conference Second Team honoree and setter Shelby Martin as well as libero Brandee Markwith who missed the 2018 season due to injury. Â
