
ECU Moves Up To Third In AAC Championships

PALM COAST, Fla. – No. 55 ECU posted a second-round score of 299 (11-over par) to move into third place after 36 holes at the 2019 American Athletic Conference Women's Golf Championships Monday afternoon. The three day, 54-hole event is being held at the Hammock Beach Resort & Golf Club.

Junior Dorthea Forbrigd shot a second round 72 (even par) and currently sits in a tie for sixth place with a score of 145 (1-over par) to lead the club with 18 holes remaining. Sophomore Kathryn Carson is two shots back with a 147 (3-over) following her round of 75. Rounding out the Pirates roster are senior Carley Cox (152, 8-over, t24), senior Kate Law (154, 10-over, t34) and junior Grace Yatawara (160, 16-over, t47).

Houston (571) continues to lead the team portion of the event after its 4-under par score of 284 and holds a 20-shot lead over UCR (591) who posted a round of 297 and sits in second place. ECU is third followed by Memphis (596) an USF (598) rounding out the Top 5.

Final round action will get underway at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, April 16 starting on first and 10th holes.
