
McCracken Sets Lifetime Best Shot Put Mark In Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The East Carolina track and field program officially put its outdoor season in the books Saturday afternoon on the final day of the NCAA East Preliminary at Hodges Stadium on the campus of the University of North Florida.
Senior Evan McCracken set a personal-best mark in the shot put, recording a toss of 17.76 meters. That performance put him in 25th place. Sophomore Brooke Stith also competed in the triple jump, placing 35th with a mark of 12.35 meters.
The top 12 finishers in each event booked their spots at the NCAA Outdoor Championships. Senior Grace Sullivan came the closest of any Pirate student-athlete of achieving that goal, coming in 14th in the steeplechase last night. Â Â
