GREENVILLE, N.C. – The 2019 American Athletic Conference Summer Kickoff and Media Days is set to begin Monday, July 15 in Newport, R.I. The two-day annual event will once again take place at Gurney's Newport Resort & Spa.

ECU Head Coach Mike Houston along with inside receiver Deondre Farrier and defensive lineman Alex Turner are set to arrive early Monday afternoon and will hit the ground running participating in Media Day events.

Coach Houston and ECU players will attend media sessions with American Digital Network, CBS Sports Network and ESPN3, which will take place between 4 and 6 p.m. (ET) before participating in a photo shoot and taking part in the conference's signature New England-style clambake with all 12 teams, bowl partners and invited media members.

Live coverage of the event will kick off with an one-hour program Monday from the site's clambake. The American's Hali Oughton will be joined by Andy Katz and Andy Gresh for interviews with coaches, student-athletes and guest with the backdrop of a waterfront sunset.

Tuesday's action starts at 8 a.m. with a head coaches meeting followed by player/head coaches group photos and the announcement of 2019 preseason poll via The American Digital Network. Legendary sports broadcaster Verne Lundquist will serve as the host of Tuesday's podium sessions, featuring opening remarks by commissioner Mike Aresco, three coaches' roundtable sessions and a student-athlete roundtable discussion. Oughton and Gresh will anchor the American Digital Network coverage.

ESPN3 will feature live coverage of the Summer Kickoff and Media Days on Tuesday, July 16, from 1-3 p.m. Matt Schick and Rene Ingoglia will anchor the coverage, which will feature interviews with all 12 head coaches as well as Commissioner Aresco.

ECU will open the 2019 season on the road at NC State on Saturday, Aug. 31 with a 12 noon (ET) scheduled kickoff that will be televised on the ACC Network. The Pirates' first home game will be Saturday, Sept. 7 against Gardner-Webb (6 p.m./ESPN3), while their AAC opener will be Saturday, Sept. 14 at Navy (3:30 p.m./CBSSN).
