Women’s Golf Inks Three During Signing Period
November 13, 2020 | Women's Golf
GREENVILLE, N.C. – Second-year head coach CC Buford announced Friday that Macie Burcham, Andrea Miralles Llopis and Grayson Warren have each signed a National Letter of Intent to play golf at East Carolina beginning in the fall of 2021.
Â
"This class is so passionate about our vision for the future," Bufford said. "Each one of them will contribute to the competitiveness and culture of our program as we continue our pursuit of excellence."
Â
Macie Burcham, Greensboro, N.C. (Wesleyan Christian Academy)
"Macie was introduced to the game from a young age and you can tell that she has loved it her whole life. She always has a smile on her face and the attitude that fits our team values: Effort, Character and Unity. Her family shares often that on quiet evenings you can find her playing the holes at Sedgefield in her back yard. Macie has a natural athleticism that drew us to her and the perseverance through adversity she has displayed over the last 12 months got us very excited for what she will accomplish as a Pirate."Â
Â
Andrea Miralles Llopis, Valencia, Spain (Cambridge Houston Community College)
"Andrea came onto our radar late, but very quickly made a lasting impression. She had multiple rounds in the 60s and was always open about where she was with her game. A player who can analyze their own game like that has a very high golf IQ and with that comes incredible work ethic. I am confident Andrea's playing experience on the international level will propel her to success here at ECU."
Â
Grayson Warren, Washington, N.C. (Pungo Christian Academy)
"A Washington, N.C. native, Grayson has been passionate about Pirate Nation for a long time. She grew up coming to ECU sporting events and following the women's golf team since meeting Coach (Kevin) Williams at a summer camp years ago. After meeting her myself, I knew she was exactly the kind of person that we wanted to be a part of our program. I see so much potential in her and with discipline and hard work, she will work her way into our lineup very quickly."
