ECU Athletics Launches New ECUPirates.com

GREENVILLE, N.C. – The redesigned ECUPirates.com, the official website of East Carolina Athletics, was launched today.

The redesign process, which was initiated in January in collaboration with partner and industry leader SIDEARM Sports, has resulted in a sleek new and efficient design that caters to an enhanced online experience. The fresh look, clear navigation and responsive design adapts seamlessly to the user's desktop, tablet or mobile device.

Fan favorites such as a composite schedule, photo galleries and videos are all easily accessible and presented in innovative ways. A prominent social media wall, featuring Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, has been designed in a larger and easier to view format on both the homepage and sport-specific pages. From that location, fans can instantly follow @ECUAthletics and each of our sport programs across all platforms.

In addition to in-person surveys, East Carolina utilized a two-year analytics tracking system to determine high-volume features in order to maximize exposure and guide its strategy to create an engaging, user-friendly and content driven website that also reaffirms ECU's brand identity. Redesigned layouts on the main and sport home pages showcase various types of content in a vertical orientation and now offers unobstructed views of featured story images and headlines.

ECUPirates.com provides comprehensive coverage of each of the Pirates' sports, including schedules, rosters, current news and statistics. There is also enhanced assistance available in the ticketing process with a redesigned ticket page, an easy access button on top of the front page and ticket links in the dropdown menu of individual teams. The official online store of the Pirates, shop.ecupirates.com, now has a featured spot on the main page with the most up-to-date specials and merchandise to help fans.

Additionally, an expanded archive page has been created to honor the school's athletic history that includes documents and applicable links which chronicle the success of its former sport programs, student-athletes and coaches.

The partnership between the ECUPirates.com and SIDEARM Sports, which began in 2014, includes one complimentary redesign as part of its existing contract agreement through 2024.
