
ECU Back In Action At Evie Odom Invitational

GREENVILLE, N.C. – The East Carolina women's golf team returns to action this weekend at the Evie Odom Invitational at the par-70, 5,824-yard Princess Ann Country Club in Virginia Beach, Va., hosted by Old Dominion.

The three-day, 54-hole tournament begins Sunday, Oct. 3, with all of the 13 teams playing 18 holes each day.

The Pirates are one of three American Athletic Conference teams in the field along with South Florida and UCF. Joining the aforementioned foursome in the tournament are Campbell, Charlotte, Chattanooga, Coastal Carolina, College of Charleston, North Florida, Penn State, Sacramento State and UNCG

ECU is coming off a 10-stroke victory at the Pirate Collegiate Classic two weeks ago at the Greenville Country Club. Oda Sofie Kilsti, who is not a part of this weekend's lineup, earned medalist honors at 4-under par. Kathryn Carson and Caroline Hermes also finished in the top 10 with Carson capturing third place and Hermes tying for 10th.

Carson leads the Pirates' lineup this weekend with freshman Andrea Miralles Llopis, redshirt freshman Riley Hamilton, senior Julie Boysen Hillestad and Hermes rounding out the tournament roster. Freshman Macie Burcham will play as an individual.

Hillestad returns to the lineup after missing the Pirate Collegiate Classic. She finished third at the season-opening Golfweek Fall Challenge with a 3-under-par. Hamilton and Burcham each placed inside the top 20 during ECU's annual fall tournament.

ECU will tee off between 8:00 – 8:44 a.m. on Sunday. The Pirates will begin play alongside UNCG with individual players from the other teams as part of each three-player group.
