ECU Athletics, Pirate Club Launch Bill Clark Homes Military Bowl Fund
December 28, 2021 | Football
ECU Athletics and the Pirate Club launched the Bill Clark Homes Military Bowl Fund on Tuesday to assist the athletics department with expenses incurred from the cancellation of the 2021 Military Bowl. Bill Clark Homes made a substantial lead gift of $200,000 to cover bowl rings for the football team and remaining funds will be applied toward bowl expenses.
Â
The Bill Clark Homes Military Bowl Fund was created as an opportunity for individuals who purchased tickets to the Military Bowl to donate the cost of the tickets to the Pirate Club. A gift to the fund will help cover expenses that occurred leading up to the bowl game.
Â
"Our family had a discussion following the cancellation of the Military Bowl and knew we needed to take action to support the coaches, student-athletes and university we love so much," the Clark Family said in a statement. "We are hopeful other Pirate fans will consider donating their bowl tickets to the Pirate Club so we can continue the momentum built in 2021."
Â
"This is another example of the generosity of Bill Clark Homes stepping up when the Pirates need it the most," ECU Director of Athletics Jon Gilbert said. "Bill, Hunter, Heath and Lance and Bill Clark Homes mean so much to our athletics department, the Pirate Club, our university, the community, state and region. We are hopeful this fund will allow us to cover our expenses so we can continue to move forward with exciting projects planned in 2022."

Individuals who purchased tickets for the 2021 Military Bowl through ECU Athletics have the following options when deciding on a refund (individuals will receive an email from ECU Athletics):Â
