ECU Continues NCAA East Preliminary Action

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Ryan Davis and Niejel Wilkins took their chances at qualifying for the NCAA Outdoor Championships Friday, competing in the discus and triple jump at the NCAA East Preliminary inside Hodges Stadium.

Davis, who is headed to the national meet in the hammer, finished 23rd in the discus with a mark of 53.39 meters. He won the American Athletic Conference title in the event just two weeks ago in Tampa.

Wilkins ended up placing 18th in the triple jump, producing a mark of 15.63 meters. It was his second-longest effort of the campaign behind a 15.70-meter performance at the AAC Outdoor Championships.
