
ECU Posts Top Times At WVU Invitational

MORGANTOWN, WVa. – For the second-straight day, the East Carolina women's swimming and diving team posted top times at the West Virginia Invitational. In all, five student-athletes recorded program Top 10 times, while six reached the A finals and a pair of relay teams claimed third place.

"Another great day for the Pirates," ECU Head Coach Matt Jabs said. "Really proud of the effort given today. As meets like this go on racing hurts a little more each time you hit the water, and our girls are showed a lot of toughness tonight."

Individually, Caitlin Reynera took second in the 100 breaststroke (1:01.56), while Brynna Wolfe (third in 100 backstroke/54.84) and Claire Mowery (sixth in 100 backstroke/55.16) posted ECU all-time Top 10 marks. Rounding out top performances were Heidi Bruining (seventh in 100 breaststroke), Randi Palandro (seventh in 100 fly) and Polina Rukosuev (seventh 200 free). Sara Kalawska also had a Top 10 performance in the 100 fly.

A pair of relay teams finished third in the 200 medley (1:41.35) and 800 freestyle (7:28.0), while the Pirates also had seven B finalists, three C finalists and two D finalists.

ECU will close out the fall portion of its season Saturday during final round action at the West Virginia Invitational.
