
Pirates Finish Third Behind Modder's Career Performance At Edisto Island Invitational

EDISTO ISLAND, S.C. –Danielle Modder shot a career-low 1-under par 209 to tie for third place as the East Carolina women's golf team finished third out of 16 teams in the Edisto Island Invitational at the par-70, 5,816-yard Plantation Course at Edisto on Tuesday afternoon.

"We see improvement in each event, not where we want to be but we're heading in the right direction," director of golf Kevin Williams said. "Very proud of Dani Modder, she has been playing well and doing a great job leading the way for our team!"

The Pirates enjoyed their best performance as a team this season (22-over par 862) and had three top-25 finishers including Modder. Marta Perez shot 8-over par 218 to tie for 19th while Macie Burcham tallied a final scorecard of 9-over par 219 to tie for 24th.

Ella Stalvey finished with a score of 11-over par 221 (t-33rd) and Nicole Nash shot 18-over par 228 (t-57th) to round out the Pirates' five. Oda Sofie Kilsti carded a 23-over par 233 as an individual.

Host College of Charleston took team honors (6-over 846) followed by Georgia Southern (10-over 850) and the Pirates. Rollins College (23-over 863) and Elon (31-over 871) finished fourth and fifth respectively to round out the top-five teams.

ECU will close out the fall season in the Landfall Tradition Oct. 27-29 hosted by UNC Wilmington at the Dye Course at Country Club of Landfall.
