
Pirates Host Ironwood Invitational To Close Out Regular Season

GREENVILLE, N.C. – The East Carolina women's golf team is set to close out the regular season at home this week when the Pirates host the 2023 Ironwood Invitational at the par-72, 6,266 yard Ironwood Golf and Country Club on Monday and Tuesday, April 3-4.

Teams will begin teeing off for round one at approximately 8 a.m. and round two will get underway at 12:30 p.m.

The Pirates have had strong performances in their previous appearances at Ironwood, capturing the ECU Easter Invitational in 2021 with a final team scorecard of 888 (305-291-292) and placing fourth in last season's Ironwood Invitational by shooting 872 (286-297-289).

ECU is coming off a fifth-place finish in the Golfweek Intercollegiate led by Marta Perez, who shot 2-over par 215 in three rounds for her second top-five finish of the season. Joining Perez in the lineup for Monday will be Oda Sofie Kilsti, Danielle Modder, Andrea Miralles Llopis and Caroline Hermes. Macie Burcham and Grayson Warren will compete as individuals.

Joining ECU in the two-day tournament will be UAB, Arkansas-Little Rock, Coastal Carolina, College of Charleston, Florida Gulf Coast, Howard, James Madison, Jacksonville State, North Florida and Richmond.
