
Pirates Finish Second At Pirate Collegiate Classic

GREENVILLE, N.C. – The East Carolina women's golf team shot one-over par 577 for a second-place finish in the Pirate Collegiate Classic on Tuesday afternoon.
The tournament was contested at the par-72, 5,991-yard Greenville Country Club. Due to inclement weather and darkness on Monday evening, the second round was suspended until Tuesday morning and the tournament was shortened to 36 holes.
Danielle Modder led ECU with a final card of one-under par 143 to finish fifth. Marta Perez, Nicole Nash, Macie Burcham and Ella Stalvey all finished in the top 20 while Lisa Forss tied for 27th (+6, 150). Andrea Miralles and Zoe Allaux tied for 32nd with a score of seven-over par 151 and Grayson Warren tied for 66th, shooting 16-over par 160.
"Really proud of the team this week, they had very positive attitudes throughout difficult weather conditions," assistant coach Kathryn Carson said. "We continue to see improvements each tournament this fall, the Pirates are trending in the right direction!"
High Point finished three strokes ahead of the Pirates to claim team honors (574) while there was a one-stroke different between three to five with UNC Greensboro and Radford shooting 15-over par 591 and Wofford finishing with a team score of 592.
