
Wright Jr. Named To The Jet Award Mid-Season Watchlist

GREENVILLE, N.C. – East Carolina graduate wide receiver Winston Wright Jr. has been selected to the 2024 The Jet Award Mid-Season Watchlist according to an announcement by the foundation Tuesday.

Now in its 14th year, The Jet Award honors the most outstanding return specialist in college football.

Wright Jr. currently slots third nationally and second among American Athletic Conference players in kickoff return yards per game, averaging 32.3 yards per attempt. He also owns a league-best 355 total yards in the statistic.

Wright Jr. logged the first Pirate kickoff return touchdown since 2022 early in the fourth quarter of the Charlotte contest, taking the ball 94 yards to the house to provide the game's final margin.

The winner of the 2024 Jet Award will be selected by a distinguished panel of voters including media members from the Football Writers Association of America (FWAA), former winners of the Jet Award, and two of the founders, Johnny Rodgers and William Reed.
