LYNCHBURG, Va. – East Carolina's Ines Bachir and Xenia Jeromin have been slotted No. 110 in the final Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) national computerized ranking of 2024 according to a release by the organization Tuesday.
Â
As a result, the Pirates will have their first nationally ranked doubles tandem entering a spring dual season since 2019 when Alisa Diercksen and Lisa Hofbauer were listed at 49th.
Â
Bachir and Jeromin are the sixth and seventh players in program history to garner a national ranking, joining Diercksen, Hofbauer, Celia Ruiz, Gillie Bailey and current head coach Kirstin Burgess.
Â
During the 2024 fall campaign, Bachir and Jeromin posted an impressive 10-2 record, highlighted by winning the doubles title at the Liberty Hidden Duals with victories over student-athletes from Richmond, Arkansas State and William & Mary. The duo also advanced to the quarterfinal round of the American Athletic Conference Individual Championships by picking up a win over North Texas' Stadfany Nformi and Lilly Schultz.
Â
East Carolina returns to action Jan. 18 when it begins its 2025 dual season against Tennessee and Wake Forest in Winston-Salem.
