
ECU Downs George Washington For Third-Straight Win

BOYDS, Md. – The East Carolina women's tennis team extended its winning streak to three with a 4-2 win over host George Washington Saturday afternoon.
ECU continued to dominate doubles play as they clinched the point with wins on courts one and two. Ines Bachir and Alisha Hussain picked up a 6-3 victory after Martina Muzzolon and Kexuan Zhou got things started with a 6-1 triumph.
Kim Auerswald sailed past Madison Lee by a 6-0, 6-3 margin to kick off the singles bouts at No. 2 before Isabella Rivera Ortiz won the third point for the Pirates with a 4-6, 6-1, 6-4 win over Victoria Sasinka at the No. 4 position. Zhou then sealed the match with a dominant 6-1, 6-4 decision over Rena Ishiguchi on court six.
East Carolina will look to make it four in a row when it opens its home slate in one week's time against Chowan at the River Birch Tennis Center. First serve for that dual match is slated for 2 p.m.
