Brooksville, Fla. – Danielle Modder carded a 5-under par 67 to tie for second as East Carolina finished the first round of the American Athletic Conference Championship in second place as a team on Monday at Southern Hills Golf Club.

The Pirates (9-under par 279) are currently one stroke behind leader SMU (10-under par 278) while two strokes ahead of South Florida (7-under par 281).

Modder's first round performance ties an 18-hole career-best for the sophomore as she shot a 67 in the first round of last year's Ironwood Invitational. Nicole Nash and Oda Sofie Kilsti are tied for 12th (2-under par 70), Macie Burcham is currently tied for 18th (even-par 72) and Marta Perez sits in a tie at 42nd (4-over par 76) to round out the Pirates' lineup.

Round two will tee off at 8 a.m. tomorrow morning and below are tomorrow's tee times for the Pirates.
