
Pirates Finish Fourth At AAC Championship

Brooksville, Fla. āĀ The East Carolina women's golf team shot 7-over par 295 in the final round of the American Athletic Conference Championship on Wednesday afternoon to conclude their season.
The tournament was contested at the par-72, 6,289-yard Southern Hills Golf Club.
East Carolina shot 2-over par 866 as a whole for the three-day tournament as SMU earned team honors after shooting 21-under par 843. Tulsa and South Florida placed second and third, shooting 19-under par 845 and 14-under par 850 respectively,
"We played great in round one," director of golf Kevin Williams said. "Unfortunately, we weren't able to maintain that level of play for the final two rounds but proud of our team for finishing fourth and of the team's effort all year, felt we got better as the year progressed."
Oda Sofie Kilsti tied for 10th to lead the Pirates carding a final score of 2-under par 214 in her final contest of her Pirate career.
"We will miss Oda!" Williams added. "She leaves as the third-best golfer statistically in program history. So happy to see her finish her career with a strong tournament."
Danielle Modder shot 2-over par 218 to tie for 17th and Macie Burcham and Nicole Nash both tied for 19th after shooting 3-over par 219. Marta Perez recorded a final score of 10-over par 226 to tie for 36th.
