Augustsson Repeats As All-Conference Performer

IRVING, Texas – East Carolina sophomore Lucas Augustsson has been named to The American Men's Golf All-Conference Team for the second consecutive year as voted on upon the league's 12 head coaches league official announced Wednesday.

Augustsson, who became the seventh different Pirate to earn AAC All-Conference honors a year ago, is the eighth player in program history to earn multiple all-league honors joining Harold Varner (2010-12/Conference USA), Marc Miller (1997-98/Colonial Athletic Association), Jason Harris (2002-03/C-USA), Andre Thorsen (2007 & 2009/C-USA), David Watkins (2010-11/C-USA), Wes Conover (2015-16/AAC) and Blake Taylor (2019-20/AAC).

On the year, Augustsson posted a team-best 71.29 stroke average, the second-best single season average, and registered seven Top 10 finishes in 12 events. The Halmstad, Sweden native recorded a pair of individual titles at the Ironwood Collegiate Classic (201) and Cutter Creek Intercollegiate (207), the latter marking his second-straight win at the Cutter Creek Golf Club.

At the Ironwood Collegiate Classic, Augustsson set new program standards in 36-hole scoring (14-under) and 18-hole score relative to par (9-under) and tied the 18-hole score of 63. He finished the 54-hole event with a 15-under par 201 which is tied for the fourth-lowest score in school history.

Augustsson closed out the season finishing tied for 22nd at The American Championships posting a score of 214 (4-over) with rounds of 70, 74 and 70. He led the team with 13 rounds below par and recorded five of the team's lowest nine rounds, which included a round of 63 (first) and 64 (second).
