
East Carolina Earns ITA Carolina Region Community Service Award

GREENVILLE, N.C. – The East Carolina women's tennis team has been named the 2024 recipient of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Carolina Region Community Service Award according to an announcement by the organization.

This academic year, the squad completed 420 hours of community service in and around the Pitt County area. Alisha Hussain was also tabbed a finalist for the Ann Lebedeff Leadership Award as an influential contributor on his or her college campus and community. She has completed at least 25 hours of community service each semester by serving as a mentor for children, going on hospital visits and volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House.

The Pirates finished the 2024 spring dual season at 11-8, the best record for the program since the 2018-19 campaign. Off the court, the team posted a 3.86 grade point average during the spring semester – the highest in program history and the best mark among all ECU squads. Four players garnered a 4.0 GPA while four others took a spot on the Dean's List and one collected Honor Roll recognition.
