
McMillan, Mouzzon Compete at U.S. Olympic Team Trials

EUGENE, Ore. - East Carolina track & field's Sydni McMillan and Melicia Mouzzon competed at the United States Olympic Team Trials at Hayward Field on June 21, 28 and 29. McMillan competed in the 100m hurdles and Mouzzon took part in the 100m dash.
McMillan was able to advance out of the first round in the hurdles, running a time of 13.26 seconds to finish fifth in her heat and earn an auto-qualifier to the semi-finals. There, the Conference Champion and Honorable Mention All-American ran a time of 13.51 seconds to earn a sixth-place heat finish and a 21st-place overall result at the Trials.
Mouzzon completed her 2024 campaign with an 11.45-second run, finishing ninth in her heat in the first round of the 100m.
McMillan and Mouzzon were the first East Carolina track & field athletes to qualify for the U.S. Team Trials since Avion Jones in the high jump in 2016.
