August 15, 2024 | Football
IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the scheduling model for conference games that will be in place for the 2025 football season. The scheduling model was approved by The American's athletic directors earlier in the week.
Â
East Carolina will host Army, Charlotte, Memphis and Tulsa inside Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium next fall, while traveling to Florida Atlantic, Temple, UTSA and Tulane. Specific dates for those matchups will be announced in February in conjunction with the league's annual full schedule release.
Â
Also on the Pirates schedule in 2025 are non-conference games against NC State (road, Aug. 30), Campbell (home, Sept. 6), Coastal Carolina (road, Sept. 13) and BYU (home, Sept. 20).
Â
The 2025 season will be The American's second in its current 14-team configuration. The schedule format calls for each team to play eight conference games, with four home games and four road contests for each team. The American will continue with a single-division format in 2025. The top two teams in the final regular-season standings will qualify for the American Athletic Conference Championship Game – site to be determined.
