Pirates Wrap Up Second Week of Competition at the Dick Taylor Carolina Challenge

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The East Carolina track & field team completed its second week of competition at North Carolina's Dick Taylor Carolina Challenge on Saturday in Eddie Smith Fieldhouse.

The Pirates had 17 athletes in competition on Saturday with no ECU athletes taking part in the first day of competition on Friday which consisted of only a handful of field events.

Amaya Pleas was the highlight of the day with her 500m effort of 1:18.59 which moves her into ninth in program history in the event.

Elsewhere on the track, Andralyn Livingston advanced to the final of the 60m, finishing up in eighth with a time of 7.74 seconds.

On the distance side of things, Katrina Ford won her heat of the women's mile with a time of 5:16.81.

The Pirates will return to the road on Friday and Saturday, Jan. 25-25 at Clemson's Orange and Purple Invitational.
