Riley Earns American Preseason All-Conference First Team Honors
October 09, 2025 | Men's Basketball
IRVING, Texas – East Carolina senior guard Jordan Riley has been named to the American Preseason All-Conference First Team as the league released its preseason coaches' poll and preseason all-conference teams ahead of the 2025-26 season on Thursday.
Riley's first team honor marks the second consecutive preseason that the Pirates have landed a player on the American's Preseason First Team with former Pirate RJ Felton earning a spot last year. Riley joins Felton and Jayden Gardner as the only two Pirates to earn American Preseason First Team honors.
The Brentwood, N.Y. native played a key role in his first year in Greenville in 2024-25, leading the Pirates and the American in steals per game with two. Riley added a career-best 14.5 points per contest and grabbed six rebounds per game while starting and playing in all 33 games ECU played. His 66 steals recorded in 2024-25 are the third-most by a Pirate in a single season and his two steals per game are tied for the fourth-best average in a single season in program history. Riley recorded multiple steals in 20 of his 33 games played and tallied a career-best five steals in three different games.
Riley and the Pirates will open the 2025-26 season inside Minges Coliseum on Nov. 4 at 7 p.m. against Georgia Southern.
