FRISCO, Texas – Kevin Williams, Director of Golf and Head Coach for Women's and Men's Golf at East Carolina University, has been named the recipient of the 2025 Kim Evans Award, as announced by the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) in collaboration with the PGA of America.
The prestigious Kim Evans Award honors the lifetime achievement of the WGCA Hall of Fame coach from Auburn University. The Kim Evans Award is presented annually to the college coach and Class A PGA Professional whose support of the game through teaching, coaching, and involvement in the community has helped ensure the continued growth of golf, and who represents the finest qualities the sport has to offer.
With more than 27 years of collegiate head coaching experience, Williams has built a legacy of excellence across both the men's and women's golf programs at East Carolina. After returning to his alma mater in 2021 to lead the men's team, he was elevated to Director of Golf in 2023 and now serves as the full-time head coach for both programs.
Williams previously guided the ECU women's squad for 17 seasons and founded the program in 2000, transforming it into a perennial NCAA postseason contender with 12 at-large bids and 29 team titles. He has demonstrated long-standing leadership within collegiate golf, holding multiple executive roles with the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA). He currently serves as Vice President (2024–present), a position he also held from 2018–2019. He previously served as Treasurer from 2016–2018 and as a Board Member from 2014–2016. William' commitment to the sport extends to NCAA governance as well, where he served on the NCAA Men's Golf East Region Advisory Committee for the last three years, and previously served on the NCAA Men's Golf South Region Advisory Committee, including two terms as Chairman.
Williams has been a dedicated member of the PGA of America since 1988.
