Two Pirates Earn College Sports Communicators Academic All-District® Honors

GREENVILLE, N.C. – Released on Thursday afternoon, the College Sports Communicators have released their Academic All-District® teams for the 2025 Volleyball season. Two Pirates on the squad – Taryn Gilreath and Elle Jackson – have been named with the organizational honor.  Â
Gilreath, a sophomore from Cypress, Texas, had a year playing in 27 matches, totaling 101 sets, with 767 assists. Gilreath earned a 3.68 cumulative GPA while she majored in Interior Design and Fashion Merchandising. Â Â
Jackson, a junior from Louisville, Kentucky, played in all 27 matches, totaling 96 sets and 233 digs as a defensive specialist. Jackson held a steady 3.70 cumulative GPA in Accounting. Â Â
The 2025-26 Academic All-District® Women's Volleyball teams, chosen by College Sports Communicators, honor the country's top student-athletes for excellence on the field and in the classroom. To qualify, student-athletes must have at least a 3.5 GPA and compete in 90 percent of their institution's matches or start in at least 66 percent of them.Â
