
ECU Adds Additional Signee To 2026 Class

GREENVILLE, N.C. – East Carolina Head Football Coach Blake Harrell announced Wednesday evening that Ethan Wilson has signed a grant and aid with the Pirates bringing the current 2026 class to 17 student-athletes. Potential student-athletes have until Friday, Dec. 5 to sign with their institutions.

The Pirates footprint for the 2026 signing period covered the Southeast portion of the United States with six signees from North Carolina, three from South Carolina, six from Georgia and two from Florida. Of the 17 student-athletes, 16 are expected to enroll at East Carolina in January of 2026 to participate in spring drills.

Ethan Wilson, DL, 6-5, 240, Fr., Bethel, N.C. (North Pitt HS)
Verbally committed to East Carolina in November of 2025 … Recruited by Roy Tesh … Will officially enroll early at ECU (January, 2026) and is expected to participate with the Pirates in spring drills … High School: Two-sport athlete (football, baseball) who played on the defensive (end) and offensive (tight end) sides of the ball for the Panthers …  Received and invitation to participate in the Blue-Grey All-American Bowl … As a senior he tallied 90 tackles with 33.0 TFLs which included 13.0 sacks … Credited with 25 quarterback hurries, three pass breakups and caused five fumbles … Named MaxPreps Player of the Game (Aug. 22, 2025) after recording 11 tackles with 4.5 sacks, 10 quarterback hurries and a pass breakup against Martin County … As a tight end he caught 10 passes for 213 yards (21.3 avg.) with one touchdown while rushing 12 times for 96 yards with two more scores … In 2024 as a junior, he caught 55 passes for 1,003 yards (18.2 avg.) with eight touchdowns … During sophomore campaign he appeared in nine games making 111 tackles (50 solo) with 19.0 TFLs that included 3.0 sacks … He recorded 30 quarterback hurries with one interception, five pass breakups, recovered four fumbles and caused another … Wilson hauled down seven passes for 84 yards and rushed one time for 15 yards … During freshman year at North Pitt, he played baseball appearing in eight games where he batted .208 (5-for 24) with a double, three RBI and a run scored … Son of current ECU assistant strength coach Amos Wilson … Cousin of 2025 First Team All-American Conference selection Zion Wilson … Uncle's C.J. Wilson (2006-09) and Willie Smith (2007-10) played for East Carolina and both played in the National Football League … Chose East Carolina over offers from Charlotte, Delaware, Eastern Michigan, Hawaii, Middle Tennessee, Missouri State, N.C.
