
East Carolina Defeats Mercer 5-2 In Macon

MACON, Ga. – The East Carolina women's tennis team snapped a five-game losing streak with a 5-2 victory over host Mercer Tuesday afternoon in Georgia.

The Pirates got it done in doubles on courts two and three as Lilly Lancaster and Isabella Rivera Ortiz captured a 6-3 win after Anne Lou Champion and Martina Muzzolon picked up a 6-0 triumph at the No. 3 position.

Muzzolon grabbed the first singles point for ECU on court two as her opponent Tea Zivic withdrew from the bout late in the first set. Ines Bachir then won a 6-0, 6-3 decision at the No. 1 position before Xenia Jeromin clinched the match with a 6-2, 6-3 victory on court six.
