
ECU Athletes Qualify to NCAA East First Round in Seven Events

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The East Carolina track & field team will be represented in seven different events at the 2025 NCAA East First Round on May 28-31 at Hodges Stadium.

Kelly Ufodiama will look to build upon her First Team All-American result indoors as she competes in three events at the regional. Individually, the rookie will be competing in the 100m and 200m, entering the competition with best times of 11.13 and 22.69 seconds which rank eighth and fourth in the region, respectively. Both times are the best in program history.

Ufodiama has also qualified alongside Aaliyah Brown-Muhammad, Jaidyn Ramsey and Kailey Elliott in the women's 4x100m relay. The squad's time of 44.26 is second best in program history and ranks 16th in the region this year.

Elliott also made her way into the NCAA First Round as an individual with her 100m hurdles time of 13.35 seconds ranking 39th in the East.

In the field events, Faith Spencer will be competing in the triple jump thanks to her program record leap of 12.96m which is 21st in the region.

Jocelyn Pringle has qualified in the hammer throw following her American Athletic Conference title with her best mark of 59.85m ranking 29th overall regionally.

On the men's side, Shakiel Dacres has qualified in the discus with a best mark of 55.61m. That mark ranks third in program history as Dacres is the fourth ECU athlete ever over 55m in the event.
