
American Conference Announces 2025-26 Men's Basketball Schedule

Irving, Texas – For the first time in three seasons, the East Carolina men's basketball team will open American Conference play at home as the league unveiled the full slate of games for its 13 teams on Thursday afternoon.
The Pirates get conference play started inside Williams Arena at Minges Coliseum against Tulane on New Year's Eve, starting a string of five games that will alternate home-and-away sites; at Temple (Jan. 7), UAB (Jan. 11), at South Florida (Jan. 14) and Charlotte (Jan. 18) before ECU embarks on a two-game road trip to Wichita State (Jan. 21) and North Texas (Jan. 24).
After hosting Rice (Jan. 28) to close out the month of January, ECU visits Florida Atlantic (Feb. 1) before welcoming Temple (Feb. 7) and UTSA (Feb. 11) to Minges and traveling to Rice (Feb. 14) to face the Owls for a second time.
East Carolina closes out the month of February with a home contest against Wichita State (Feb. 18) followed by back-to-back road games at Charlotte (Feb. 21) and UTSA (Feb. 25).
The Pirates wrap up the regular season with a two-game homestand against Memphis (Mar. 1) and Tulsa (Mar. 4) before the regular season finale at UAB (Mar. 8).
Beginning this season, the 2026 American Men's Basketball Championship will feature the top 10 teams in a new five-day bracket format. The No. 1 and No. 2 seeds will advance directly to the semifinals, while the No. 3 and No. 4 seeds will maintain byes to the quarterfinals. The No. 5 and No. 6 seeds will receive byes to the second round. The 2026 Championship will run Wednesday through Sunday, March 11-15 at the Legacy Arena at the BJCC in Birmingham, Alabama.
Game times and TV designations will be announced at a later date.
