Pirate Nation:
Six teams. Three days. One exciting weekend to be a Pirate!
We have a full slate of action on campus this weekend, I hope you will join us to bring the energy for our football, men's and women's basketball, volleyball, women's swimming, and baseball teams.
The weekend kicks off Friday at 7:30 p.m., when our football team hosts conference foe South Florida in Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium. With a national audience watching on ESPN2, our annual Night of the Boneyard is an opportunity to show everyone what makes game day at ECU special. Wear black, be loud, and help us make Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium an electric atmosphere from kickoff to the final whistle.
Here are a few highlights for Friday:

Here are a few highlights for Friday:
- Tailgate Plaza opens at 4:00 p.m., with North Carolina singer-songwriter Zack Lee taking the stage at 5:30 p.m.
- The Pirate Walk will begin at 5:15 p.m. along the Howard & Lyn Swain Pirate Promenade. Come out and welcome the team as the players step off the buses.
- At halftime, remain in your seats for a special Drone Show.
- Thanks to Pepsi - Minges Bottling Group, fans can once again enjoy a full array of fireworks throughout the game.
Keep the purple and gold out for Saturday as we move inside Minges Coliseum for a basketball doubleheader. Our men host UNCW at 2 p.m., followed by our women taking on Liberty at 5 p.m.Â
Thanks to a group of loyal supporters, $2 soft drinks and select beers will be available during the men's game. Saturday is the annual Diabetes Awareness game for the women's basketball team. It is a wonderful opportunity to spend the day in Minges, get behind both teams, and help build a strong home-court advantage early in the season.
The Pirates women's swimming team will host a Quad-Meet on Saturday against Richmond, Campbell, and Georgia Southern. Action gets underway at 1 p.m. in Minges Natatorium.
The Pirates baseball team will compete in the Purple & Gold World Series at Clark-LeClair Stadium with games on Friday (3:30 p.m.), Saturday (1 p.m.) and Sunday (12:30 p.m.).
Â
We will close the weekend on Sunday at noon when our volleyball team hosts Tulsa for Senior Day. Admission is free. With four regular season matches remaining, the Pirates are tied atop the American standings with a 16-8 overall record and 9-3 conference mark. This team has put itself in a position for an exciting finish, and your support can make a difference. Come help us recognize our seniors and cheer on the Pirates as they compete for a conference championship.
If you still need tickets, call the ECU Athletics Ticket Office at (252) 737-4500 or visit the Online Ticket Center.
Fans can also take part in our 50/50 raffle, sponsored by Valicy, with tickets available through the third quarter of Friday's football games. Fifty percent of the raffle proceeds will be awarded to the holder of a randomly selected ticket, while the remaining 50 percent will benefit the ECU Foundation. Fans can participate by scanning QR codes displayed throughout Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium or visiting ecu5050.com.
Whether you are under the lights at Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium or cheering from the stands in Minges, your presence means so much to our student-athletes and coaches. Let's fill this weekend with Pirate pride and give all six teams the support they deserve.
Go Pirates!
