KANSAS CITY, Mo. – East Carolina senior guard Jordan Riley has been named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) South Atlantic District Second Team according to an announcement by the organization on Tuesday.
The All-District honors are voted on by NABC-member coaches across NCAA Division I.
Riley is the fifth Pirate to be named to an NABC All-District team, joining RJ Felton, Jayden Gardner, Maurice Kemp and Miguel Paul.
The Brentwood, N.Y. native led East Carolina and the American Conference in scoring with 23.6 points per game while adding six rebounds and 1.9 steals per game. He scored 30 or more points in an American Conference single-season record seven games and was the first Pirate since Anton Gill in 1994 to score 40 points in a game. Riley was named to the American Conference's First Team at the end of the season as well as earning the league's Player of the Week honor twice and honorable mention three times. He was named the USBWA's Oscar Robertson National Player of the Week twice and Lute Olson National Player of the Week becoming the first player in program history to earn three national weekly recognitions in the same season.
Riley joins Oliver Mack, Blue Edwards and Jayden Gardner as the only Pirates to reach 1,000 points in an ECU jersey in two seasons and he ranks third behind Mack and Edwards in number of 30-point games in a season and in a career while finishing behind Edwards for the most points scored in a single season at ECU with 708. His 23.6 points per game this year is third all-time at East Carolina and he is third all-time as a Pirate in career scoring average with 18.9 points per game. Riley is sixth all-time at ECU in career steals with 124 and had a career-best six steals in two games this year for ECU, joining Lester Lyons as the only Pirate to have multiple games with six takeaways.Â
