ECU Tied For Third At American Conference Championship

BROOKSVILLE, Fla. – The East Carolina women's golf team is currently tied for third after the conclusion of the first round of the American Conference Women's Golf Championship on Monday afternoon. The championship is being contested at the par-72, 6,289-yard Southern Hills Plantation Golf Club.

East Carolina posted a score of 293 (5-over) through 18 holes of play and the Pirates are nine strokes behind Tulsa, who sits in first place after posting a 4-under par 284. UTSA stands second at 288 (even), while South Florida is tied with ECU in third (293). Rounding out the Top 5 is Florida Atlantic sitting three strokes behind the Pirates and the Bulls at 296.

Marta Perez sits in seventh place after shooting a 34 (2-under) on the front nine and a 38 (2-over) on the back for a score of 72 (even par). She carded three birdies, three bogeys and 12 total pars. Danielle Modder is one stroke back of Perez in 11th after shooting a 1-over 73 (37-36).

Nicole Nash (37-37) and Lisa Forss (36-38) are tied for 17th place following their rounds of 74 (2-over), while Ella Stalvey is 35th following a 5-over par 77 (38-39).
