Pirates Tied For Second At Ironwood Invitational

GREENVILLE, N.C. – The East Carolina women's golf team posted an opening round score of 300 (+12) and is tied for second place after 18 holes at the Ironwood Invitational. The three-day, 54-hole event is being played at the Ironwood Golf Country Club (par-72, 6,491 yards).

Freshman Isabella Taylor-Stokes (individual) leads the field following a2-under par 70 after shooting a pair of 35's on the front and back nine. Sophomore Lisa Forss is tied for sixth after shooting a 1-over par 73, while senior Nicole Nash is tied for 13th after her opening round 2-over par 74.

Senior Danielle Modder shot a 75 (3-over) and is tied for 18th, while graduate senior Marta Perez id tied for 29th with a 6-over par 78. Freshmen Karsyn Roberts (79/7-over) and Madison Rizzo (80/8-over), who are playing as individuals are tied for 34th and 49th, while junior Ella Stalvey (80/8-over) is also tied for 49th.

Georgia State leads after 18 holes shooting a 9-over 297 and holds a three-shot lead over Elon (300) and East Carolina (300) who are tied for second. Rounding out the Top five are Xavier and Columbia which are tied at 302 (14-over).

Second round action takes place Monday, April 6 with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. (ET).
