
Pirate Quartet Earns NFF Hampshire Honor Society Membership

GREENVILLE, N.C. – Former East Carolina football student-athletes Noah Holmes, Nick Mazzie, Triston O'Brien and Teagan Wilk have earned membership into the 2026 National Football Foundation (NFF) Hampshire Honor Society according to a release from the NFF and College Hall of Fame.

The Pirate quartet were among a record 2,596 players nationally to earn membership which has been awarded annually since 2006 for outstanding academic achievement. Members of the 20th anniversary class join former Pirates in Robert Lee (2006), Kevin Roach (2006), Warren Harvey (2015), Zay Jones (2017), Phillip Nelson (2017), Worth Gregory (2017), Austin Teague (2018), Thomas Sirk (2018), Alex Turner (2020), Blake Proehl (2021), Jake Verity (2021), Fernando Frye (2022), Tyler Snead (2022), Jonn Young (2022), Aaron Jarman (2023), Jeremy Lewis (2023-24), Jireh Wilson (2023), Hampton Ergle (2024), Alex Flinn (2024), Dustyn Hall (2025) and Luke Larsen (2024-25) as members of the honor society. Larsen and Lewis as the only Pirates to receive the honor twice.

Holmes (3.60 GPA), who is set to graduate with his master's degree in communication in the spring, earned his undergraduate degree from ECU in the summer of 2024 in communication. Mazzie (3.75 GPA) completed his graduate certificate in the fall of 2025 after earning a degree in mechanical engineering in the summer of 2025 at New Hampshire. O'Brien (3.88 GPA) completed his MBA in the fall of 2025 after receiving his undergraduate degree in business finance in the summer of 2024 from Cincinnati, while Wilk (3.33 GPA) completed requirements for his graduate certificate in the fall of 2025 after earning his undergraduate degree in business from ECU in the spring of 2023.
