Riley, Emejuru Ink NBA Undrafted Contracts
June 25, 2026 | Men's Basketball
GREENVILLE, N.C. – Former East Carolina guard Jordan Riley and center Giovanni Emejuru have both signed undrafted NBA contracts to play for the New Orleans Pelicans and Denver Nuggets respectively on Thursday.
The duo's signings with their respective teams marks the second straight year that the Pirates have had a player sign an undrafted contract as RJ Felton signed an Exhibit-10 contract with the Indiana Pacers and competed for their G-League affiliate in the Noblesville Boom.
Riley will compete on Pelicans' summer league team while Emejuru has inked an Exhibit-10 contract with the Nuggets. An Exhibit 10 contract is a one-year, non-guaranteed NBA minimum salary contract that primarily serves to invite players to training camp and secure their G League rights.
Riley led the Pirates and the American Conference in scoring with 23.6 points per game which was second-best in the country. The American Conference First Teamer was the first Pirate to earn three national weekly awards in same season (2x USBWA Oscar Robertson Player of the Week, Lute Olson National Player of the Week)Â and was just the fourth player in program history to reach 1,000 points at East Carolina in just two seasons. He finished his collegiate career scoring in double figures for 40 consecutive games and joined Pirate great Blue Edwards as the only other player in program history to score 700 or more points in a single season.
Emejuru had a career-best year down low in his lone season with the Pirates, averaging 12.9 points per game while being one of the top rebounders in the American with a team-high 9.2 rebounds per game. He was also second in the league with 14 double-doubles and set a program record with 124 offensive rebounds last season.Â
