
Pirates Earn ITA All-Academic Team Honors

TEMPE, Ariz. – The East Carolina women's tennis team has been named an Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Division I All-Academic Team for the 13th time in the last 15 years and for the fifth consecutive season as the organization announced its full list of All-Academic Teams and Scholar Athletes on Monday.
The Pirates recorded an annual GPA of 3.52 for the 2025-26 academic season.
Kim Auerswald, Joan Madi, Lilly Lancaster and Xenia Jeromin all garnered ITA Scholar Athlete honors. Auerswald and Madi were recognized for the third straight year while Lancaster was honored for the second consecutive season.
In 2026, 1,501 Division I Women's student-athletes were named ITA Scholar-Athletes, and 231 Women's tennis programs were awarded the All-Academic Team distinction. The ITA All-Academic Team award is open to any ITA program that has a cumulative team grade point average of 3.20 or above (on a 4.00 scale). All varsity letterwinners are factored into the cumulative team GPA from the 2025-26 academic year. In order to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status, a player must have a grade point average of 3.50 or above (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year.
